I'm an upper level Chemistry Major student at HSU, and I've decided to take a temporary break from college for personal and logistical reasons. I've completed a good number of Math, Physics, and Chemistry classes. I'll happily tutor anyone in General Chemistry up to the Chemistry-II level (CHEM-110), Math up to Calculus-II level (MATH110), and Physics up to Physics-II level (PHYX110) as I'm very fluent in and enjoyed the subject material of those classes and those leading to them. I could probably help with science and math classes beyond those as well, but would prefer to discuss those instances on a case-by-case basis, mostly because I want to be sure I can actually be helpful and not wind up wasting peoples time. I'm told I'm quite talented at tutoring, most of the people I've studied with before have been very happy with the results. I'm happy to help K-12 students with their math and science studies as well, so long as the student is actually willing and motivated to learn (I'm no babysitter -- capiche?). Rate negotiable, but preferably in the $10-15/hr range. Willing to discount longer study sessions. Happy to do small groups! My apartment is a sardine can on it's best days, so either I can come to you or we can meet at the HSU library - or some other location where you think we can study effectively if you wish. I live in Arcata, and am willing to travel to Eureka, Trinidad, anywhere in-between, and maybe beyond if it's made worthwhile (pay gas at least, for example). I'm more or less your typical science geek. I'm a clean, kind, and fun soul to be around. I'm not one of those condescending "smarter-then-thou" people. I'm passionate about science and chemistry in particular, and I just happen to have a natural talent for math and physics. I consider myself to lack any characteristics that would make one a "bad role model." I don’t drink or smoke (anything), and just do my best to enjoy life as it comes every day.
