Experience
As the oldest of four children, I have countless hours of experience tutoring my two younger brothers and younger sister in nearly every subject encountered in a normal elementary to post-secondary education. I achieved a 1340 on the SAT in 2005, which was right before the test was modified to its current incarnation. As a junior in high school, I also scored within the 96th percentile on the ASVAB. I love interacting with students and hope to someday become a university level English professor. I feel that I have my intellectual bases covered as far as writing, grammar/syntax, and composition are concerned. I am an avid reader, and have a familiarity with most high school and college level basic required Literature. In addition, I've spent the last few years studying U.S. History, Anthropology and social justice issues. I strive to understand others within the larger context of their specific situations and backgrounds. I feel that learning is an incredibly personal process, and it inevitably follows that teaching is as well. No two students are ever the same, and as a tutor, I feel that my ability to adapt to the unique learning styles and personality quirks of each individual I instruct will be most beneficial.
